Southern Minnesota AHEC works with community-based health professionals in our region to develop programs that address locally identified health care education needs. Join us for these exciting and informative programs. Work with your colleagues, engage or collaborate in research.

Interprofessional activities
Southern Minnesota AHEC supports three interprofessional community health projects in the region funded by Minnesota Education Research Costs (MERC). These MERC projects build interprofessional education teams of health professionals, health professions students, and community members to address a community-identified health issue. MERC community projects currently exist in New Ulm - Obesity, and Montevideo - Prenatal Care.
Health professionals can also take part in interprofessional workshops offered by Minnesota AHEC covering such topices as obeisty and battling methamphetamine abuse.
Continuing Education
Make use of Medical Equipment, including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) trainers, CPR mannequins, an IV arm trainer, and an electronic simulation mannequin, available for use in training health professions staff and students. Also see our K-12 Teachers Resources.
